Labette Health

Off to a strong start

Dear Friends,

As the new executive director of the Labette Health Foundation, I am overwhelmed by your generosity and support. As Labette Health continues to grow, I am committed to leading the foundation to continued success made possible through your contributions.

In 2019, the foundation awarded $22,750 in scholarships to 20 students seeking a medical-related career, bringing our total in scholarship donations to $304,900 over the years. We have purchased several pieces of equipment, including a Biodex 800 Urology Cysto Surgical Table, a lab chemical analyzer (for the Independence Healthcare Center) and six EMS IV pumps.

We also upgraded our mammography software to Genius 3-D Mammography and remodeled the internal medicine and pediatric area, second floor clinic, into a more modern setup.

Because of your continued giving, we were able to contribute $1,000 each to the Independence and Parsons Safety Kids camps. Safety Kids camp is put on by the foundation and local emergency medical services and the fire department every June for children ages 5 through 9 in our community. During this one-day camp, kids learn lifelong lessons for safely swimming and playing in water; riding ATVs and bicycles; safety around lawn mowers; and drug, fire, electrical and natural gas safety.

Your gifts are of the utmost importance and offer immediate resources directed to current needs and opportunities. Thank you for your continued support.
