Hospital news

PARSONS, KANSAS – The Labette Health Independence Healthcare Center will open its emergency department at 7am on Tuesday, July 4, 2017. The center is located at 510 N. Peter Pan Road.

Operated by Labette Health, this new center is designed to deliver time-critical emergency care to southeast Kansans. The center includes a trauma room, advanced imaging, comprehensive laboratory services, and helicopter accessibility. Since this emergency department’s medical staff, electronic record, laboratory and imaging are all integrated with Labette Health’s main campus, Montgomery County has closer access to the only Nationally Ranked Hospital (by CareChex), BCBS Blue Distinction Center+, Four-Star CMS Hospital, and Level III Trauma Center in the county.

“We have assembled an outstanding team of experienced emergency medicine professionals capable and qualified to treat everything from a simple cold to stroke, heart attack, and trauma stabilization,” said Dr. Melinda Allen, Medical Director.

A grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony will be held in August.
