SUMMARY

This position is primarily responsible for facilitating the needs of medical fitness users, including basic decision making regarding safety and communication during training sessions. Responsible for medical intake and interview process for medical fitness center. Responsible for development and instruction/oversight of medical fitness center participants. Provides community education and marketing regarding fitness and lifestyle management. Assists in maintenance of fitness equipment. Reports to the Director of Rehabilitation Services and may be required to share specific information with Medical Director. This position requires responsibility for the health, welfare and safety of patients, members and staff using the fitness center. Responsible to observe MBF users, enforce regulations, and prevent accidents. Required to clean and assist with equipment maintenance/upkeep. Responsible to learn I-Go and MOD Pay, oversee scheduling and enrolling of members.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma required. Minimum of an Associate’s degree in exercise/health related area (Nursing/physician assistant/allied health/personal trainer certification/college certificate or associate’s degree in fitness/exercise science). Certification: basic life-saving certificate; advanced lifesaving certification preferred. Evidence of being able to work as a member of a team, with or without supervision and follow instructions needed, and completion of on the job training required. Current certification of first aid and basic life support skills. Must possess knowledge of safety hazards, lifesaving techniques, ability to recognize hazardous situations and ability to positively communicate and engage positively with the public. Understanding of exercise/training principles required.
