A great full time opportunity for an Athletic Trainer

Labette Health is a very progressive, 5 star, rural hospital located in Southeast Kansas. Most know for our nationally recognized orthopedic program, we have a comprehensive rehab department.

SUMMARY: This position is primarily responsible for providing athletic training services to local athletes in a variety of settings. In doing so, the trainer collaborates with local medical and school personnel to optimize athlete wellness. The trainer facilitates injury prevention as well as recovery for area athletes in accordance with the Kansas state athletic training practice act. Additional responsibilities may include coordinating community/ school/ workplace wellness endeavors within or outside of the Center of Rehabilitation Excellence (C.O.R.E.). Reports to the Rehabilitation Services Director and or Sports Medicine Medical Director. This position requires responsibility for attending local sports events and providing basic trainer services at those events.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Must possess at least a bachelor’s degree in a health-related field and be BOC certified, licensed, certified, registered in Kansas as an ATC. Certification: basic life-saving certificate required; advanced life-saving certification preferred. Evidence of being able to work as a member of a team, as well as functioning independently with minimal supervision and follow instructions needed. High school diploma is preferred. Current certification in first aid and basic life support skills. Must possess knowledge of lifesaving techniques, ability to recognize hazardous situations and ability to positively communicate and engage positively with the public.
