Position Summary
The PRN Respiratory Therapist provides high-quality respiratory care to patients of all ages. This role involves delivering treatments, monitoring respiratory status, and collaborating with physicians and nurses to ensure safe and effective care. As PRN staff, you will have the flexibility to pick up shifts as needed while playing a critical role in patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver respiratory therapy treatments and interventions as ordered by providers

• Manage ventilators, oxygen therapy, and airway clearance techniques

• Perform diagnostic testing (such as arterial blood gases) and interpret results

• Educate patients and families on respiratory health and equipment use

• Document patient care in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure quality outcomes

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program required

• Successfully passed the National Board of Respiratory Care examination for the Certified Respiratory Therapist or Registered Respiratory Therapist

• Licensed Respiratory Therapist (RRT or CRT) in the state of Kansas required

• Current BLS certification

• Prior acute care or hospital experience preferred

• Strong communication skills and commitment to patient-centered care
