Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our Independence Rehab team. In this role, you will help patients improve their ability to perform daily activities, regain independence, and enhance their overall quality of life. You will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to develop and deliver individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s unique needs and goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform thorough patient evaluations to assess physical, cognitive, and psychosocial abilities and challenges.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans to improve daily living skills, functional abilities, and participation in meaningful activities.
- Provide evidence-based occupational therapy interventions, including therapeutic exercises, manual techniques, sensory integration, and functional training.
- Recommend and train patients in the use of adaptive equipment, assistive devices, or home modifications.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on therapeutic strategies, home exercise programs, and ways to support ongoing recovery.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals (e.g., physical therapists, speech therapists, nurses, physicians) to ensure coordinated, comprehensive care.
- Accurately document assessments, treatment sessions, progress notes, and discharge plans according to professional and facility standards.
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and patient-centered care environment.
- Stay current with continuing education and evidence-based practices in the field of occupational therapy.
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current and valid Occupational Therapist (OTR) license (or eligibility) in the state of Kansas.
- National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) certification.
- CPR/BLS certification
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Strong commitment to patient-centered care and professional ethics.
