Summary

Maintains accurate patient records for billing purposes, prepares claims for billing and F/U billing, does the end of the month paperwork, statements, and performs such duties as routing mail and answering the telephone, posts charges for nurses notes, therapy notes, HHA and supply charges, inputs OASIS data (start of care, transfer-in, resumptions care, and discharge OASIS), calls for Prior Authorizations, faxes information to Medicaid, out-of-town doctor’s orders, face to face information and follow-up as needed, routes local doctors their orders for signature, does filling and other clerical work, makes up new charts for starts of care, breaks down discharged charts, assists with chart reviews, assists with organizing meetings, takes new referrals and begins the intake referral for new admissions, assists with coding – takes charts to coding and picks up when completed, sends HHCAPS reports in monthly, orders supplies weekly, prepares mileage sheets for payroll / accounting and performs other duties as needed.

Education

High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum of 2 years experience or an associates degree in business preferred. Previous word processing, data entry, billing and computer experience (preferably in home health or similar operation). Knowledge of medical terminology.
