SUMMARY:

The Summer Foods Aide plays a crucial role in supporting our summer food program, which aims to provide nutritious meals to children during the summer months when school is not in session. The Summer Foods Aide will assist in meal preparation, distribution, and ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for program participants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of nutritious meals according to program guidelines and standards.
  • Help with the distribution of meals at designated sites, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Provide friendly and courteous service to program participants and their families.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen and meal distribution areas, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and proper disposal of waste.
  • Assist in inventory management, including stocking supplies and conducting regular inventory checks.
  • Support program activities and events as needed, including setup, and cleanup
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, as well as program policies and procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with other staff members and volunteers to ensure the smooth operation of the summer food program.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor to support the overall objectives of the summer food program.

Qualifications:

  • MUST be able to drive and transport food to sites in their own vehicle
  • MUST be at least 16 years old.
  • Experience in food service or related field preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reliable and punctual.
