Position Summary:

The Environmental Services Manager is responsible for overseeing and directing all housekeeping and linen operations across Labette Health, ensuring a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This role manages the day-to-day operations, supervises staff, develops departmental standards, and ensures compliance with regulatory guidelines and infection control protocols.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise the Environmental Services (EVS) team, including housekeeping and linen staff, across all hospital and clinic locations.
  • Ensure cleanliness standards are maintained in patient care areas, offices, public spaces, and support departments.
  • Oversee linen inventory, distribution, and laundering procedures, ensuring appropriate supply levels and quality standards are met.
  • Coordinate with Infection Control and Nursing departments to maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and implement schedules, cleaning protocols, and quality control measures.
  • Participate in hiring, training, evaluating, and disciplining staff in accordance with HR policies.
  • Monitor departmental budget, labor costs, and supply inventory, making recommendations for cost-saving improvements.
  • Respond to service requests and resolve issues related to housekeeping and linen services in a timely and customer-focused manner.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and operation of EVS equipment.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities to ensure performance standards are met.
  • Support hospital emergency preparedness and readiness through departmental roles during drills or real incidents.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Hospitality, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in healthcare environmental services, including housekeeping and linen operations preferred
  • Strong understanding of infection prevention and environmental safety protocols preferred
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Computer proficiency with MS Office and facility management systems.
