Medical Assistant- Mobile Unit

Description:

The Medical Assistant supports the delivery of healthcare services in a mobile clinical setting by performing administrative and clinical duties under the supervision of licensed medical providers. This role requires travel to various locations, flexibility, and a commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care to diverse populations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain mobile exam areas, ensuring cleanliness and readiness for patients.

  • Take and record vital signs, patient histories, and chief complaints.

  • Assist healthcare providers with examinations and minor procedures.

  • Administer medications and immunizations as directed and within scope of certification.

  • Collect and process laboratory specimens (blood, urine, swabs, etc.).

  • Perform point-of-care testing and assist with diagnostic procedures as needed.

  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records via EHR systems.

  • Verify insurance information and collect co-pays or payments when applicable.

  • Document patient encounters and prepare charts for provider review.

  • Coordinate with clinic staff for follow-up care, referrals, and patient outreach.

  • Maintain medical supply inventory and ensure restocking of the mobile unit.

  • Perform safety checks and ensure proper functioning of mobile unit equipment.

  • Represent the organization positively during community events and outreach activities.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Completion of a Medical Assistant training program (CMA, RMA, CCMA preferred).

  • Current CPR/BLS certification required.

  • Minimum 1 year of medical assistant experience preferred
