Description:

Summary: This position is primarily responsible for facilitating the needs of fitness pool users, including basic decision making regarding safety and communication during the specific swimming classes. Responsible for development and instruction/oversight of pool users during aquatic classes, Learn to Swim classes and any private instruction. Assists in maintenance of swimming pools. Reports to the Director of Rehabilitation Services and may be required to share specific information with Medical Director.

Education Requirements: College certificate or associate’s degree in fitness/exercise science; bachelor’s degree in exercise science, recreation, or related field preferred. Certification: Current YMCA, Red Cross, or other nationally recognized certification; certification as an aquatics facility operator; certification as a pool operator, advanced life-saving certification, and/or water safety instructor certification.
