Provides over site to clinical leaders across the health system to facilitate the achievement of the Labette IT organization’s vision and strategy for the effective use and application of clinical information and technology to positively influence health care delivery, patient care outcomes, promote quality initiatives and make efficient use of resources.

This position serves the overall development, implementation, education, and day-to-day support needs of clinical information systems (CIS) that involve physicians and clinicians (hereinafter “clinical users”). This includes but is not limited to the CPSI System (and its many subsystems) Greenway, and Medhost, and any other adjoining 3rd-party systems that encompass the Computerized Patient Record.

Achieving Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Electronic Health Record (EHR) (hereinafter “Computerized Patient Record”) is a strategic goal for Labette Health. This position will be largely responsible for facilitating the achievement of this goal through contributing substantially to its global design, implementation, integration, training and ongoing support of our HER Interoperability.

As a resource, the IT Director provides on-going user and informatics support for the healthcare system and maintains up-to-date knowledge of trends and advances in the field of Nursing and Healthcare Informatics. The IT Director assures all systems are utilized appropriately and have the most current updates.

The IT Director will supervise clinical operations involving the day-to-day support of Information Systems. This includes overseeing employee’s activities performed in support of EHR applications. The IT Director makes sure we are utilizing resources in the most cost effective manner.

Provides support to help desk.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s Degree from a four year college and experience in IT operations for at least 2 years. Experience in IT operations can be substituted for a degree. Electronic clinical documentation experience as a direct caregiver a plus.
