Men: How to check for signs of testicular cancer

During or after a shower or bath, when the skin of the scrotum is relaxed, is the best time to examine your testicles for signs of testicular cancer. Here's how to do it.

HOW TO DO A TESTICULAR SELF-EXAM

Examine each testicle one at a time.

Use both hands to hold your testicle between your thumbs and fingers.

Roll it gently between your fingers.

Look and feel for any hard or smooth round lumps, or any change in the size, shape, or feel of your testicles.

A testicle that's swollen or larger than normal may be a sign of cancer. See your doctor if you feel a lump or notice any changes.
