Roberta Vernon is our 2010 Volunteer of the Year.
She has been volunteering at LH since 2001 and has over 6000 hours of volunteer service. She has served on the Auxiliary board for six
of those years as Secretary, Vice-President and President. She is currently serving as Past-President and is the chairperson for the Baby Cap service. She has also worked at the Information Desk and in the Gift Shop.
The Volunteer of the Year is selected by the Volunteer director, the Auxiliary President, Auxiliary Vice-President and by praises/compliments from fellow volunteers
and hospital staff. Recipients must
demonstrate compassion to others, be dependable and respected by others, cooperate in Auxiliary fundraisers/activities, go above and beyond to assist customers/staff, demonstrate leadership and portray confidence.
"Roberta is an incredible person with a heart of gold. I can't thank her enough for her leadership and support the past two years as President. She truly is dedicated to helping others and fully supports our Auxiliary and hospital. She joins a remarkable list of previous 'Volunteers of the Year".
