RACHEL A.
OBSTETRICS PATIENT

It's not always the third time that's charm. The experience can be reached sooner than that, especially if you're an obstetrics patient at Labette Health. Just ask Rachel whose second child, Emma, was born Oct. 3, two weeks earlier than planned. Like her big brother, Levi, the plan for Emma was to enter this world via cesearean section. Only by arriving in a bit of a hurry, she surprised everyone, including her mother.

"I had a very good experience. This was my second C-Section – my first one was at a hospital in Tennessee. This time my recovery was so much faster. I believe it is because of the way the procedure was done, and the care I received afterward. "

Even before Emma's birth, Rachel had been pleased with the treatment she received from her Labette Health obstetrician. She said he listened to what she said and explained things to her thoroughly in technical terms, accompanied by any needed definitions. During her regular appointments, Rachel's doctor made her feel comfortable and confident. She said she appreciated his expertise and that he never talked down to her as if she wasn't smart enough to understand what he meant. And when she went into labor prematurely, the Labette Heatlh nurses also made her feel comfortable and safe.

"The nurses were all very nice and friendly. They made me feel comfortable and listened to my needs. I am very grateful for my experience at Labette Heatlh. I plan to return to have all my children there."
