KEENAN GROSDIDIER
CANCER SURVIVOR

In his small town Kansas high school setting, Keenan Grosdidier always felt at ease. From all appearances this vibrant, athletic young man with a winning smile was in great physical shape.

Like many of his 23 senior classmates, he was constantly active. He was happy playing sports, going to parties and making big plans to go on to college -- even though he couldn't decide what direction to take when he got there. Then shocking news cast a shadow on his future. He was diagnosed with testicular cancer.

Keenan’s mom said he was in a daze, in total confusion, while first trying to grasp the seriousness of his illness, but what overwhelmed him, and helped him the most was the support of both his family and community.

Being a team player, Keenan knew he'd do best if he got treatment in the same friendly, home town environment he’d grown up in. That's why he chose Labette Health. "Everyone was so nice and always had time to stop and visit awhile, no matter how busy
they were."

Now Keenan's a survivor with a positive future. He won his battle against cancer. And, the positive experience he had with the medical professionals during his care gave him inspiration and a direction for college. He's checking out the pre-med program.
