NED
WALL
CANCER SURVIVOR
Spirit.
That's what keeps golfing, horse racing,
and
football fan, Ned Wall, going strong. And he attributes the
spirit of Labette Health as a major factor that has helped
him through his long battle with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. After
doing a biopsy and performing other tests, his three Labette
Health doctors diagnosed the disease, Nov. 1, 1994.
"My family doctor immediately
made an appointment for me with M.D. Anderson and on Nov. 3,
my parents and I flew to Houston. Everything that had been done
in Parsons was affirmed by the staff at M.D. Anderson."
After spending two weeks in Houston
getting started on chemotherapy, the Wall family returned to
Parsons where Ned continued treatments at Labette Health. "The
nurses who gave me my chemo treatments both were a great help
to me and my family with their excellent skills and attitude.
They certainly helped keep my spirits at a high level with their
friendly, upbeat personalities."
Getting quality medical care locally,
has allowed Ned to stay active in the Parsons community where
he belongs to the Elks' Lodge, attends Rotary Club meetings,
and golfs at the Katy. A 2002 PSU graduate, Ned is also a lifetime
member of the Pittsburg State University Alumni Association and
attends all PSU home football games.
"I really appreciated the convenience
of receiving most of my chemotherapy treatments in Parsons. It
was so good that M.D. Anderson and Labette Health were able to
coordinate my program of treatment to make this possible. We
are proud and thankful to have a hospital like Labette Health
in Parsons." |
