CPSI has been the Health Information System Vendor for Labette Health for some time. Offering different programs that benefit individual hospital operations, their ImageLink program was the logical choice when Labette Health moved forward to the newest technology for Diagnostic Radiology. A "PACS" (Picture Archiving and Communication System) has become a vital component for the efficiency and integrity of Radiology Department Services. Technologists that make the x-rays become more efficient with more time to focus on doing patient x-rays rather than transferring films around the Department. The Radiologist has immediate access to your x-rays providing quicker reading and communication to your physician of any abnormal findings. Overall efficiency has proven to be 35-50% better when this type of technology is available.

What is ImageLink?
ImageLink allows a patient's x-rays to be stored in a computer system and displayed on other computers where a physician has access to the system. This ensures that your physician has the latest information available from your x-rays as soon as possible.

Why is this better than the old way of making a film?
Your x-rays are available to your physician in locations in the hospital or office at any time, either through connection with the hospital or on a computer disc that can be printed on his or your request. Also, your films are stored digitally and this means that your images can be located quickly without "lost" studies.

Does it change the way my x-rays are made?
No, your tests are still performed the same but the images can be lightened or darkened if necessary. This means that less repeats are necessary, thereby lowering your radiation exposure.

Are my images secure? Can anyone "see" them?
Yes, your images are completely secure. Physicians and nurses can view the images they are approved to view after they are approved for access to the system. No one that does not have access can view any images in the system.
