Provides basic nursing care to patients under direct supervision.  Evidence of being able to work as a team, under close supervision and follow instructions needed, completion of two weeks on the job training required.

Registered Nurse

Full time (36 hrs) 6:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m. - ICU/2 North

Part Time (24 hrs) 6:45 a.m. to 7:15 p.m. - IRU

Provides professional nursing care for medical and surgical patients according to established procedures.  Diploma in nursing, associate’s degree (A.D.N.) from two-year college or Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.N.) from a four year college and successful completion of a prescribed curriculum of study which has led to licensure as a Registered Nurse in Kansas and gives evidence of possessing the experience of a licensed nurse on a staff level.

Utilization RN

The Utilization Management Nurse: A registered nurse that assumes the responsibility and accountability for the coordination and facilitation of services needed to care for a patient during an entire episode of care. Coordinates and is responsible for cost effective utilization of resources and timely movement of the patient through the care continuum. Assist with utilization management responsibilities including completing review functions and computation of data, serves as a key member of the professional staff who coordinates and manages patient process through the continuum of care specific to individual patient needs.  Admission portion: Assigns patients to appropriate units or area of service transcribes phone orders as directed by physicians.  Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university or equivalent, or Diploma graduate with equivalent nursing experience.  Current Kansas Registered Nursing license required.  Minimum of three (3) years of acute care experience and sufficient knowledge and experience in understanding of treatment required.  Proficiency in Microsoft Office.  Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university or equivalent, or Diploma graduate with equivalent nursing experience.  Current Kansas Registered Nursing license required.  Minimum of three (3) years of acute care experience and sufficient knowledge and experience in understanding of treatment required.  Computer literacy is required and recent word processing, spreadsheet competency is preferred.

Home Care

Certified Physical Therapy Assistant:  Full Time (40 hrs) Float

Under supervision of Physical Therapist, performs treatments and provides exercise instructions and demonstrations for patients.  Assess patient progress and modify treatments if needed.  Certificate from a two year Physical Therapy Assistant program; Licensed in the state of Kansas as a Physical Therapy Assistant.

 

Rehab Services 

Occupational Therapist:  Full Time (40 hrs)

Plans and implements OT programs to facilitate rehabilitation of the physically handicapped.  Directs patient participation in selected tasks and exercises to restore, reinforce and enhance performance.  Registered Occupational Therapist licensed in the state of Kansas.

Surgery 

Surgery Tech/RN

Full Time (40 hrs)

Prepares operating rooms for surgery, using appropriate techniques.  Provides technical services and assists in operating room, emergency room and ICU as assigned and directed.  Previous experience along with Scrub Tech Certificate desired or Registered Nurse licensure required.

Central Sterile Tech (40 hrs)

Receives and processes incoming supplies and equipment, performs cleaning and sterilizing duties, prepares pack of supplies, linen and instruments in central supply/service as directed.  BCLS required.

Pharmacy 

Pharmacist:  Full Time (40 hrs)

Prepares, compounds and dispenses prescribed medication for patient care within the hospital as per established policies and procedures.  Calculates and monitors drug dosages for safe and effective therapy, especially as authorized by medical staff or individual physician instructions.  Fully uses departmental and hospital processes and systems to insure correct distributive and clinical pharmaceutical care activities.  Graduation from an accredited school of pharmacy with a five year collegiate program in pharmacy.  Completion of pharmacy internship.  One year experience as registered pharmacist desired.  Current license as Registered Pharmacist with State of Kansas.

Business Office

 

Registration Specialist

Full Time (40 hrs) – 3:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m.

Part Time (16 hrs) 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Performs a wide variety of responsible computer clerical tasks, including such duties as admitting patients, cashiering, being a receptionist, operating the switchboard, and performing general clerk duties.  One to two years previous experience desired.

Patient Financial Services Director - Full Time

The Patient Financial Services Director has the responsibility of assuring the accurate and timely patient admissions/registration, billing and collections for Labette Health patients (including hospital, EMS and Home Health).  The director is also responsible for PBX/Switchboard and centralized scheduling.  The Director is held accountable by demonstrating effective management of the identification, design, implementation and monitoring of a system of methods and procedures for the revenue cycle ensuring accurate information is captured as early as possible in the patient scheduling/registration process, notification to third party insurance companies occurs as required by 3rd party (including Medicare, Medicaid, Blue Cross and Managed Care Contracts) or as needed to ensure prompt payment of the account; duplication of work is eliminated; and work and cash flows are relatively consistent over the course of the fiscal year.  Assures compliance with all related regulations.  Identifies innovative approach to enhance performance and customer satisfaction.  The Director works cooperatively with the Director of Heath Information Management, Utilization Review and Financial Services to ensure contractual requirements are completed.  Director also works closely with the Director of Information Technology to maximize system efficiencies. Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; with 3-5 years progressive hospital management experience with Patient Financial Services minimum.  Substantial 5-7 years progressive hospital management experience in Patient Financial Services may be in lieu of education.  Proven leadership, management, problem solving and analytical abilities.  Proven communication and interpersonal skills.  Track record of innovation, creativity and accomplishment.

Information Technology

 

Senior Desktop Support Technician:  Full Time (40 hrs)

The Senior Desktop Support Technician serves Labette Health as the desktop systems expert contribution to the day to day management of the desktop computing environment.  This position will be responsible for the desktop management practice including (but not limited to):  maximizing uptime for business and clinical users & applications; desktop information security; vulnerability management; desktop system test lab for deployment testing; policy & procedures; group policy management; asset inventories; enterprise-wide standards; system upgrades; record keeping; compliance with government & regulatory bodies; desktop security including audits; and keeping current with IT technology, healthcare industry trends and consumer demands.  This role will manage all aspects of our desktop assets (hardware & software) throughout their full lifecycle.  Minimum of 5 years experience in providing desktop support in a networked Microsoft Windows Server environment.  Working knowledge of Windows 9x/2000/XP and Microsoft Office suite of products.  Microsoft Certified Professional in Windows XP.  Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator in Windows 2000; Project Management skills; Numara Track-IT! Experience; Prior experience in healthcare environment. 

Clinic

 

Clinic RN/LPN   Full Time (40 hrs) - Dr. Hetlinger

Assists the physician by performing nursing assessments, treatments and by instructing all patients as needed.  Associate's degree (A.D.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; Current Kansas license of RN or LPN.

Health Information Management

Transcriptionist:  Full Time (40 hrs)

Transcribes medical dictation, letters and other recorded data using transcribing, dictating and word processing equipment.  Credentialing with AAMT preferred but not required.  One to three years related experience and/or training required. Knowledge of medical terminology and human anatomy and physiology required. Significant experience with dictation/transcription equipment, printers, faxes, etc. preferred.

Clinical Documentation Specialist:  Full Time (40 hrs)

The Clinical Documentation Specialist is responsible for the overall improvement of the quality, completeness and accuracy of the clinical documentation in the medical record.  This position will promote appropriate clinical documentation through extensive interaction with the physicians, nursing staff and other patient caregivers as well as the Health Information Mgmt Coding Staff.  This effort will ensure the clinical documentation is in compliance with guidelines from CMS, OIG, HFAP as well as the hospital’s Medical Staff Bylaws. Current State licensure as a Registered Nurse, Coding Specialist, or Registered Health Information Administrator/Technician.  BS degree is preferred, but experience in a similar setting would be considered.  Current exposure to or experience with ICD-9-CM coding and DRG assignment.  Prefer five years experience in an acute care environment.  Proven leadership, independence and assertive work skills.  Knowledge of inpatient, outpatient and clinical reimbursement systems.  Knowledge of federal, state and payer-specific regulations and policies pertaining to documentation and subsequent coding/billing.  Experience in reviewing and analyzing a medical record for medical necessity and diagnosis/DRG validation.  Exposure/experience with the medical necessity criteria such as Interqual.  Strong leadership and interpersonal skills including ability to professionally interact with the medical staff.  Excellent written and oral communication skills along with a focus on customer service.
