Revenue Cycle Director

The Manager of Revenue Cycle is responsible for end to end management of people, processes and systems supporting the Labette Health Revenue Cycle.  The revenue cycle is defined as all administrative and clinical functions that contribute to the capture, management, and collection of patient service revenue.  The Manager is responsible for enhancing and maintaining a properly functioning revenue cycle process through a cross-department organizational structure.  The position will provide leadership and subject matter expertise related to the development of a compliant, comprehensive revenue cycle at Labette Health.  Essential functions of The Director of Revenue Cycle include but is not limited to:

  • Development of a high performance team as measured through achievement of benchmark process outcomes, audit and compliance results, financial goals and patient satisfaction. 
  • Provide subject matter expertise in the functional areas of billing, collections & bad debt, payment processing, denial management, accounts receivable finance operations, health information management (HIM) (to include coding and ROI, patient financial services, charge master development and maintenance including Utilization Review, Case Management and RACs, documentation and coding and charge capture.
  • Identify and build consensus for facilitation of system and process standardization, utilization o best practices, work integration, change management, issue resolution, metric development and measurement, and communication related to the key components of the revenue cycle.  Identify improvement opportunities and cost efficiencies while maintaining or improving customer service. 

Master’s degree in Business Administration, Health Administration or other related field preferred, Bachelor’s degree in health care administration, finance or other related field required.  Seven or more years of progressive experience within the healthcare provider revenue cycle, including leadership/management experience (HIM or PFS), consulting and/or project management experience in revenue cycle design and optimization.  Experience in management of multiple departments and establishing detailed work plan and setting priorities.  Experience in provider pricing including charge master and fee schedule strategy.  Familiarity with revenue cycle information systems and how they can be leveraged to systemize efficient process.  Healthcare operations management experience preferred. 

Clinic

Physician Assistant/ARNP:  Full Time (40 hrs)

Provides primary health care services to patients of all ages under the supervision of a physician in a health care setting.  State of Kansas registration and national certification after completion and graduation from accredited Physician’s Assistant Program or licensed in Kansas as ARNP. 

Surgery

Director:  Full Time (40 hrs) Float

Managers and coordinates operating room functions; directs and supervises functions and activities; interprets policies, procedures, standards and regulations as appropriate.  Performs duties in any nursing capacity as needed.  Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  BSN with current Kansas license.  One to two years experience in OR and or supervisory experience.

Scrub Tech/RN:  Full Time (40 hrs)

Anticipate needs of surgeons during all surgical procedures in regards to handling of instruments, supplies, and the use of equipment utilized during all surgical procedures.  Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience or Current Kansas RN license. BCLS required.  

Rehab Services

Day care Provider: 

Part Time (10-20 hrs) Varied

Part Time (10-20 hrs) Varied

This position requires positive interaction with parents/caregivers and children ages 6 weeks to 13 years of age.  Requires planning and providing a safe and fun environment for children in a drop-off day care environment with a 2 hour time limit.   Requires the ability to provide age-appropriate activities with the emphasis on healthy choices and fitness.  Required to assist children with toileting and/or diaper change.  May be required to feed small children. Evidence of being able to work as a member of a team, under close supervision and follow instructions needed, and completion of on the job training required.   High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.  Experience working with young children and displays positive communication skills.  Computer skills preferred.  Basic life support certification and first aid certification required. 

 

Occupational Therapist

Full-Time (40 hrs)

Plans and implements OT programs to facilitate rehabilitation of the physically handicapped.  Directs patient participation in selected tasks and exercises to restore, reinforce and enhance performance.   Registered Occupational Therapist licensed in the state of Kansas.  

 

Physical Therapist:  Full-Time (40 hrs)

Under the direction of a physician, evaluate patients and plans and implement an effective, research-based physical therapy program based upon assessment, clinical expertise, sound judgment, and psychological sensitivity.  Maintain a high level of professional expertise and assume responsibility for professional growth and development. Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited university.  Licensed as a Registered Physical Therapist in the state of Kansas.

Materials Management

Buyer:  Full-Time (40 hrs)

Places orders daily that help maintain the general inventories of this institution.  This position sends bids out for the supplies and capital equipment as directed.  The position works with departments to coordinate standardization of supplies with our GPO purchasing contracts.  One to two years related experience and/or training in healthcare field of materials management.  Computer experience required. 

Director:  Full-Time (40 hrs)

The Director of Materials Management has the responsibility of the Inventory and Acquisition process to effectively and efficiently control inventory throughout the Medical Center by managing the acquisition, warehousing, distribution, transportation and processing of supplies and equipment required for the efficient operation of the hospital and its affiliates.  Enhance operations by using automated inventory systems.  Assures compliance with all related regulations.  Identifies innovative approaches to enhance performance and customer satisfaction.  The Director of Materials Management works collaboratively with all Department Directors to maximize system efficiencies and plan and implement new processes.  Proven leadership may result in increasing responsibilities. Bachelor's degree (B. S. in Administration) from four-year college or university; with 10 years healthcare Materials Management experience required.  Proven leadership, management, problem solving and analytical abilities.  Proven communication, performance improvement, and interpersonal skills.  Track record of innovation, creativity and accomplishment.

Nursing:

 Certified Nurse Assistant: 

Part-Time (24 hrs) 6:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m.

Provides basic nursing care to patients, under direct supervision.  Evidence of being able to work as a team, under close supervision and follow instructions needed, completion of two weeks on the job training required and C.N.A. certification preferred. 

Registered Nurse:

Full-Time (36 hrs) OB 6:45 a.m. to 7:15 p.m.

Provides professional nursing care for patients in labor, delivery, post partum, and nursery units according to established procedures.  Associate's degree (A.D.N.) from two-year college or Bachelor's Degree (B.S.N.) from a four year college and successful completion of a prescribed curriculum of study which has led to licensure as a Registered Nurse in Kansas.  Gives evidence of possessing the experience of a licensed nurse on a staff level.  Preferably has at least two years of successful practice in nursing.  Preferably previous labor, delivery, post partum and nursery experience.  If no experience must complete on the job training.


Business Office

 

Insurance Specialist:  Full Time (40 hrs)

The purpose of this position is to increase and accelerate maximum cash reimbursement in various insurance financial classes.  The responsible staff person will perform claim inquiries on all outstanding insurance accounts in an effort to reduce and maintain the level of accounts receivable acceptable for the financial classes assigned.  Performs the various computer clerical functions necessary to file and/or re-bill primary and secondary insurance.  Initiates benefit verification and pre-certification information.  Obtains all necessary information for claims completion.  Requires positive customer service relations with other Labette Health departments within and outside the facility, physician offices, insurance companies, etc.  Must be able to perform the above duties in a fast paced environment while maintaining overall objectives and goals.High School diploma/GED required.  Two to three years work related experience and/or training.  Must be proficient in Word, Excel and have extensive computer knowledge.  Minimum 3 years customer service experience.  Benefit verification and pre-cert experience required.

Registration Specialist:  Full Time (40 hrs)

Performs a wide variety of responsible computer clerical tasks, including such duties as admitting patients, cashiering, being a receptionist, operating the switchboard, and performing general clerk duties.  One to two years previous experience desired.
